Sunken Driveway in South Denver
Our customers’ driveway had sunken incredibly. You can see from the pictures that they had tried to remedy this in the past by making a makeshift ramp with cement in order to park in the garage. What you can’t see is that they had made a wooden ramp on the other side because the drive had sunken about 6 inches.
We were able to rip out and replace the driveway. We also replaced about 200 SF of their garage because it had sunken, too. A short walkway from the driveway to the front steps had sunk as well, so we tore it out and replaced it to be level with the bottom of the stairs. The whole thing is now safe for the owners and one of the owners’ elderly mothers to get in the house safely.
We finished this project in less than a day. it was about 700 SF of concrete that we tore out and replaced. We also added about 8 tons of road base in order to level the ground before pouring the concrete.
In addition, we made recommendations on how to keep downspout water from affecting the driveway anymore.
